But she is definitely going to cycle. A tour to the Flemish Ardennes will be a nice touring weekend.
Let's start from home. After cycling 10 minutes I almost feel like being somewhere in a national park:
"No", my boss corrects me, "this is a farm... you know... where they will kill those animals..."
I guess I'm happy I don't live there!
Along the old railroad path to Torhout... it's kind of dusty, but there are spots along the trail which bring some color into our ride:
The final destination of our first day is close to Oudenaarde. We liked the windmill along the road:
The next day we head towards the terrain where the Tour the France and the Tour of Flanders cycles. After that ride I must say: I will never ride Paris - Roubaix. Cobblestones are not for me:
The last day it's back to Ghent. Did you know they have zebra's grazing?
This time we cycled on the "Interstate of the cycling routes"... my boss didn't always find the arrows and signs. She just headed "That way"... The cycle bridge over the highway close to Ghent was something new for us. The path made some fierce turns here. "It"s like cycling in the Black Hills of South Dakaota..."
Once in Ghent my boss drinks a coffee at the station and makes a phone call to meet her sister for lunch. Time with and for family!
A couple days later a big box arrives in the living room: it's Sweet Machine all ready packed... Let's sit next to the box to make sure our woman doesn't forget us!
One more night - with a partially moon eclipse:
I told the doctor I'll make sure my boss will practice her pinky... even when it hurts a bit!
